Ingredients

This is a closer look at the ingredients in our dog food. A healthy diet is all about balance—combining essential nutrients from protein, fat, and carbohydrate sources to support your dog’s overall health and prevent malnutrition. Think of it as an orchestra: each ingredient plays its part, coming together to create a harmonious symphony that nurtures your dog’s well-being.

Baobab

Baobab is known as the African “Tree of life” and can live for more than 1000 years. It is a large tree that has many similarities with succulents. It is also referred to as the “upside-down” tree, due to its branches looking like roots sticking up in the air. The baobab fruit contains 6 times more vitamin C than an orange and 50% more calcium than spinach. In addition, it contains vitamin B6, niacin, iron and potassium. We use organic baobab harvested on a farm in the Limpopo province of South Africa.

Black Soldier Fly Larvae

Our insect meal, made from black soldier fly larvae, is a highly digestible source of all 10 essential amino acids, plus healthy fats, calcium, magnesium, zinc, fiber, and glucosamine—perfect for dogs with food allergies or sensitivities.

Sustainably sourced from an EU-certified farm in Cape Town, the larvae are raised hormone- and antibiotic-free on a clean, plant-based diet of spent grains and surplus baked goods. This eco-friendly process turns food waste into a nutrient-rich, high-quality protein for your dog while supporting a circular economy.

Probiotics

The digestive tract contains an abundance of good microorganisms that make up your dog’s microbiome. Most of the immune system depends on a healthy micro-biome, and probiotics help maintain the good flora in your dog’s gut to aid in:

  • A healthy immune system
  • Managing food sensitivities
  • Healthy digestion

We use cold-pressed and certified non-GMO canola oil. It is a rich source of vitamin K, vitamin E and polyunsaturated fatty acids like ALA omega 3 (alpha linoleic acid), and omega 6 (linoleic acid) . We do not heat our canola oil when making our dog food to preserve the nutritional benefits. Canola oil is called the “Nordic olive oil”.
